Quite frankly, the team from Helping Hands have saved my life, and made my mother’s life as good as it can possibly be, especially for someone who is not socially inclined. They are caring, kind and good cooks! Utterly trustworthy, and great fun.

My mother, who lives in her own property,

could not do so without their help.

I will be forever grateful.

Quercy Helping Hands have been a lifeline to me and my mother.  She came to live with me here in France 7 years ago after being diagnosed with dementia and for the past year helping hands have helped me with the care for my mother. The warmth and kindness they have shown to her has been wonderful, and also to me, they have given me the strength to carry on. They are a truly dedicated, professional team and have helped me to continue to care for her, which has been challenging to say the least, if my Mother was  able to thank them in her own words she would and is eternally grateful for the kindness they show her. I would not hesitate to recommend helping hands, a wonderful group of kind, caring people.

I used Quercy Helping Hands when my elderly widowed mother had had a fall and needed some extra daily care.

I felt there was a commitment from all of them to do their very best and to use their initiative, doing not only the tasks we had agreed, but also in responding to any unplanned difficulties or situations as they arose in an intelligent and hard-working way.  I could not recommend them more. If you need help, these are good, useful, hard-working people who give value for money.

To be frank I was very resistant to having carers come into my home and live alongside us. My wife and I are in our 90s and in recent years I have looked after my wife and run the house and kept up with the garden. However, age took its toll and I was finding it harder and harder to manage. My daughter suggested we look at carers so, reluctantly, I invited Helping Hands to come and talk to us. They have now looked after me and my wife for over a year and I now consider them very much like part of the family. They provide a 24hrs service and are on hand at all times to keep us safe. We feel very well cared for but above all I have been struck by their kindness in going over and above to ensure our care and comfort. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.

Fifteen months ago I found myself in the very sad position  of acknowledging that my parents, who have always been fiercely independent could no longer care for themselves safely,   Initially, as a retired nurse I took it upon myself to care for them which proved to be impossible alone, on a 24hr basis. 12 months ago,  I reached out to Caroline and her Helping Hands team and was immediately impressed at their 'can do' attitude, looking for solutions rather than obstacles.  I remember clearly being told that they were willing and able to help with whatever was needed to care for my parents safely with dignity and grace and to also help with whatever was necessary to help us run their home.  To say that was an enormous relief, is an understatement!  Helping Hands have been marvellous and I would recommend them highly..... My parents love them! and so do I!  We share the care between us, but I feel safe to step aside when I'm not on shift as I know that they will maintain a wonderful standard of care and always communicate well with me.

I find it extremely difficult to place Mum’s care in people outside of the family because of her specific healthcare needs, but the Quercy Helping Hands team have been brilliant. Now, when I need to be away, I have total peace of mind that Mum is safe, comfortable and as happy as can be.

For anyone who needs help caring for family members or friends I can, from personal experience, recommend the ‘Quercy Helping Hands’ team. They provided me with a care plan for a family member which gave me the freedom to continue participating in activities away from home, be it for one night or a week.

Quercy Helpings Hands provided a service tailored to meet all of my mother-in-law’s needs - emotional, physical and social. Six wonderful women came into our home and took responsibility for her. Her capacity to remember them may already have passed but my husband and I will never forget Helping Hands.

"The carers who looked after Marjorie, who was in her nineties, living with us in France, were always kind and considerate and treated her with dignity and respect at all times. She always looked forward to their visits and spoke of them very fondly”
