QUERCY HELPING HANDS
Working as a carer is rewarding in so many ways.
Quercy Helping Hands is always looking for caring people to join our friendly team. Experience of looking after others is valuable but so is a ‘can do’ attitude, compassion and an overall desire to enable others to get the most out of their life despite limitations posed by age or illness.
There is no maximum or minimum time asked of you. Shifts can be arranged to fit around other lifestyle and commitments.
Please use the contact links to either email or call for an informal chat to discuss what you think you can offer… and what you will receive in return.
Here’s what some of the team say about working for Quercy Helping Hands.

Being a real people person, I love this job as it brings me into contact with a range of people... all of them interesting with stories and histories to tell. It is particularly rewarding when I can help someone to follow their existing hobbies such as walking, playing scrabble or knitting. I believe enabling someone to stay in their own home with their pets or treasured items around them is key to happiness and safety. I also really appreciate the flexibility that this work offers and the fact that no day is ever the same.
Caroline
Care work should never be underestimated. To offer support and companionship to people reaching the end of their lives is truly worthwhile and incredibly important. The fact that we work in a close team with Quercy Helping Hands means that our rotas offer flexibility around our own commitments. We have enjoyed many varied jobs over the last years and as one of our team, I find it truly rewarding.
Louise
It is always lovely to spend time with the elderly clients we support. Helping them to remain as independent as possible is a privilege.
Nancy
Working with a wide variety of clients, tailoring their needs to make their lives fuller, happier and easier is a joy. In return they entertain us with their life experiences, history and thanks. As a fellow team member has said, its a privilege.
Sarah

I am a carer because I like people and enjoy helping people in need and making a positive difference in their lives. I get to meet many interesting people from all walks of life. I love to make people laugh. I find laughter the best medicine and in helping people through their hardships and difficulties I have discovered things about myself and what I’m capable of. It has taught me more patience and given me the experience not to take things too personally. It has helped me become a stronger version of myself. If we are not of service to other then why are we here?
I am very lucky to be part of a wonderful team of people who support each other as well as our clients.
Tina

As I am of Thai origin, caregiving comes naturally to me as it is an intrinsic part of my culture especially caring for those of advanced maturity. I enjoy immensely the interaction and wonderful life experiences and knowledge our clients impart and feel very grateful that I am given the opportunity to be able to do the job that I love.
